Overture Academy is a kind and welcoming community! In order to keep it that way, we hope you will follow a few simple rules, to make everyone's day run more smoothly - your's included.

1) Kindness is most important, politeness second. Be kind to your fellow roleplayers. It's a pretty simple rule, covers most every other rule. If you can't like a certain someone else on the board, at least be polite to them. Then if it's a problem, ask the admins. That's what we are here for!

2) Write. Write a lot! I like to go with the minimum of 100 words usually, but it's not strictly enforced. Write what you see fit, but please avoid one-sentences. Write a couple paragraphs! If you feel writer's block, go on the chatzy!

3) Be a grammar Nazi. This one is pretty strictly enforced. A misspell every once in a while is not a problem - we all do that! But if you have a sentence like "i lik yummies fr food" we will need to talk.

4) You are not God. Avoid god-modding like the plague. It's rude and generally all-around uncool. People work hard on their characters, and they do stuff with them that you might not ever imagine! So let them write them, and focus on writing your character as best as possible.

5) You are not the Invisible Woman, either. If you join this awesome rp, and I hope you do, please write somewhat regularly. Once a week is about the minimum. If you need to leave for any extended time, please let an admin know!

6) Have fun! Yep, that's it! Please write "crescendo" on your application to let us admins know you read this!

Character Rules
1. No more than 1 character per instrument unless cleared with an Admin.
2. You may only have a teacher if cleared with an Admin. 
3. No Mary-Sue's Gary-Stus, as fun as they are we would like to avoid one dimensional characters. If you need helping with personality and backstory please talk to any of our Staff or even other rpers. We're sure they'd be glad to help.
4. If you do not want a faceclaim you don't have to. It is completely optional.
5. If you do use a faceclaim, especially of an actor with a well known role, please do not make the character exactly like that character. Similarities are fine but please do not base your entire character on the actor's other roles.
6. We would like to avoid instruments like electric guitar, electric bass... Classical guitar, upright bass, and percussion is alright we will let you know if you're instrument is inappropriate for our site. 
7. Please don't make more than one character unless you feel you can handle more than one still posting at least once a week with both and you've waited at least a month after creating your first.
