blair malachai hunter
Gender: male
Age: 18
Orientation: bisexual
Occupation: student
Eye color: dark hazel or brown.
Hair color: dirty blonde or light brown.
Skin color: not exceptionally fair skinned, but certainly not tanned. Caucasian.
Body structure: his body type is slim and slight, but not particularly fat or fit. He has a healthy amount of meat on him, but nothing like a six-pack.
Character dress: wears comfortable, loose clothing. Pretty much anything in his closet ends up on his back.
Special character appearance details: glasses, unless it's a pain - he does have contacts somewhere in his room. Probably. He also wears an assortment of loose necklaces, including dog tags and a dragon.
Instrument: oboe.
Why are you like your instrument?: The oboe is a fussy, demanding instrument, and either plays at “angelic beauty mode” or “horrendous, dying animal mode”. Blair is one of those annoying people who you hate 90% of the time, and adore the other 10%. Also, oboe reeds are a serious pain in the butt, and have to be worked on consistently to create correctly. To understand Blair, you have to spend a large amount of time with him.
Personality: Describing Blair in words is like trying to catch smoke. The guy is the definition of "hypocritical". He hates being tied down, but expects perfection from himself and everyone around him. He loves performing, but gets annoyed easily at long rehearsals. He craves attention but avoids the spotlight as much as possible. In some ways, he's a child, and in others, he's old. He lives in the moment and despises looking back, but feigns nostalgia.
Most importantly, he laughs things off and flirts with others breezily, but if you ask him anything about himself, he'll laugh that off too. He is mostly incapable of talking about himself. In fact, he's a chronic liar and probably the person you see every day isn't the person he really is.
Artistically, he's incredible. He learns aurally, so most of the music he hears he can play back from memory. He is obsessed with playing perfectly, though you're unlikely to ever see him in a practice room.
Likes: time to himself, “flirting” with people to annoy them, watching or creating beautiful things.
Dislikes: being tied down, restrictions or requirements, sour food, out of tune music.
Strengths: learning music quickly and perfectly (or being a perfectionist in general), being light hearted, occasionally actually being quite brave and cool.
Weaknesses: being non-accepting of others, having far too high standards for himself and others, being incapable of being vulnerable, lying frequently, sticking out and being awkward.
Dreams for the future: going professional so he can live life the way he wants.
Family members: Jacob and Lilian Hunter are his parents, and Horatio, his older brother, is an engineer.
History: Blair's history is sensitive. It wasn't horrible or abusive, but he did live in the shadow of his older brother, who was very academically inclined. In fact, Horatio broke school records in his science and math scores, winning awards in the academic teams and the like. Blair, on the other hand, was quiet and artistic, writing stories in a notebook or painting pictures as a child. His parents weren't upset, per say, but even a young Blair could sense that they didn't care as much for his sketches as his brother's grades.
Around late middle school, Blair got into theater and music, and became more outgoing. He learned that a sassy tongue and a quick wit could make him more popular than a gloomy air. But deep inside he didn't feel like he was being true to himself. Rather than be honest, he learned to build a fake persona about himself, ignoring responsibilities and only looking forward, putting a grin on instead of an apathetic look.
Eventually he began to play the oboe, and took to it very well. He "got" its idiosyncrasies, and was patient enough to learn how to make oboe reeds. His parents let him take lessons with a professional, since he was finally being "useful". When he became better than his teacher, they decided it was time to send him to Overture Academy.
OOC name: Loliet, or just Lolly
Roleplaying experience: maybe...7 years? Or 8, I don't even know anymore
The secret word: crescendo
